Mr. Aspie Writer: Day Three on Solo Planet…"I am obsolete"

This is hubby’s email update awaiting my posting this morning.

I see that he mentions the shower in his hotel being hospitable to my Aspie senses.  Just to clarify, I think he has it backwards.  Showers that with a strong, firm, beat the hell out of me water flow are fantastic.  Those gentle flow showers are tortuous! It feels like someone is tinkling little shards of glass onto my skin. No wispy touches or tinkly water!

Day Three on Solo Planet

Captains log:

My wife would love the shower in my hotel…you can barely feel the water hit you…her Aspie sense of touch would be very accommodated by this shower.

My wife has proven to me that I am obsolete LOL…

In the short time I’ve been gone she has the boys…my wonderful terrorists in training…on an early sleep schedule…something we’ve been attempting for the past two years at least. Apparently all it took was me leaving for a week.

I am so happy and proud though. My eight year old is loving his new school and tonight my wife is taking him to boy scouts!

The baby is sleeping through the night…and they have had family movie night every night since I’ve been gone lol.

Wonder woman has taken control. Whether or not she had to use her magic lasso of truth or not,  I’m sure she will share later.

Friday I start the long trek home. I won’t get there until evening time and I’m praying my arrival won’t disrupt their new found order and bring a return to chaos.

Mr. Aspie Writer

Poor hubby! He is not obsolete. These children require 100% attention, which is what I have had to try to provide this week. Luckily for me I have this week off of school, so without any classes or assignments waiting to be done I can spend every moment with them.  If I try to do something else, well, that is when all hell breaks lose. The baby tries to pry my fingers off my keyboard, and when that doesn’t work he takes my mouse and flings it down the air conditioning vents!

The older boys with wrestle, fight, and bicker in the living over everything imaginable unless I am sitting in there with them.  So this week I made sure to rent movies and have “Family Movie Night” every night.  With mom sitting in the room eating snacks and watching movies they didn’t fight (as much anyway).  One week of putting everything else in life on hold to keep the chaos manageable for me is doable. More than one week, not so much.  We are all looking for to Daddy coming home from Denver on Friday night!
