Mr. Aspie Writer: Final Day on Solo Planet; Stuck in Washington!

Just got the call that hubby is stuck in Washington D.C., he missed his connecting flight home!    Five minutes after I hung up this arrived for you all in my inbox.  I think he is having way too much fun keep you all updated. 🙂

Captains log:

 Stuck in D.C.

I am now on the plane waiting to leave the lonely planet…

Correction….I sat on the plane for twenty minutes…before they finally announced they were doing mechanical repairs and we should be leaving shortly…I don’t panic…I’m a trained professional…

We leave late…my connection leaves at five pm. I am running through the airport as fast as I can (as fast as I dare considering I’m in Washington D.C. and I don’t want to be tackled by TSA)…

I get to my gate at two minutes to five…huffing and puffing… (I’ve GOT to start exercising)…only to find they let the plane leave early…(United Airlines you suck!!!)

I called my wife and Aspie son picked up and wanted me to slap the people behind the counter.

My wife who I have missed fiercely is trying to be a good sport…but I wish she was here…she’s better at confrontation than I am…lol…she would have them paying for my new ticket, my hotel, and dinner!

I miss my family…

Update:  He finally got booked on a flight out of D.C., it leaves at 9:30 tonight, and gets in 11:15.  Then there is a two hours drive from the airport to our house…so looks like hubby will be in around 1:30 a.m. The kids are upset because they will be asleep (they had better be!) before their Dad gets home tonight, but at least he will be here tonight and there when they wake in the morning.  The boys really miss their Dad (Ok, Me too…sssshhhh, don’t tell him!)

It’s been a really long day for him though.  Hubby boarded a shuttled to the airport in Denver at 8 a.m. this morning… a very long travel day.  I hate that he has to make that two hour drive after such a long day.  I’ll be worried until he pulls into the driveway.

For now I think I am going to head over to the Redbox and get the boys a movie to pass the time and take their minds off of their disappointment.
