First Day Back To School

Little man first day of schoolToday is the first day back to school for the kids here in South Carolina. The little man here is all decked out in his Sonic the Hedgehog shirt, with matching book bag, and lunch box! We also purchased some little personalised patches which I have sewn on to his book bag. You can get these from Imprint and they are a great way to put your child’s name on his book bag so it doesn’t get lost. Of course, we woke late this morning (great start to the school year) jumped out of bed and began the mad dash to get the little man out the door. He is very excited to start his new school year (Fourth grade), which I am praying goes really well for him. I am concerned though because this will be the first year that they start changing classrooms for different subjects and needing to keep track of where they are going and what they need to have with them-something I am foreseeing as being a difficulty for him.

Tot in his rain coatThe Tot today insisted on taking plenty of “cheese” because he says, “I’m cute.” My kids are so modest! He is ready for the down pouring rain that is going on outside this morning. It is dark, gloomy, and POURING…poor kids! I hate rainy days and having the first day of school like this really stinks!

The Teen is supposed to start Cyber Academy on Wednesday, let’s see how that goes. I am still waiting for his doctor’s office to call back because he needs and updated Immunization Form (someone explain this to me-why do I need an updated immunization if first, I could choose NOT to immunize, and he is going to be schooling from home??) Makes no sense to me, but they are delaying his enrollment status until the receive a new form and the doctor’s office (which I am starting to really hate) does not call back. I am also waiting for his refilled Rx, a referral, and his diagnosis paperwork to give to the school GRrrrrrr) We need some more doctors here in Florence that is for sure, and some that have responsive staff would be nice.

  1. I’ve dropped doctors offices because of cruddy staffing before. You always want a good clinician, but the office staff make the appointments, call you back when results, make sure insurance codes are correct when billing, etc. I hope it all goes smoothly!
