Some of you may know that I had a lot of trouble attempting a college education when I was younger. I started college in 1991 after dropping out of HS and taking my GED, but I was not able to finish and always struggled to understand why.
A major culprit was that I had undiagnosed autism. I was not able to access my situation, figure out what was not working (and why), and come up with a plan to remedy the problem. Fortunately, (I think, so far) 23 years later, I have finally found a solution that is right for me – Online GED classes! So, how can i get my ged online for free? I did an extensive search and found quite a lot of websites that offer free online classes.
Anyway, I’ve been attending college online since November of 2011, and as of today January 2014, I am still enrolled and still working towards my goal! I am excited because I have difficulty sticking with anything, or completing goals-so for me, this is BIG. Of course, I am still a long way from finishing my goal but well beyond the halfway point.
I do not think that I could manage my studies in a brick-and-mortar school, even though sometimes I wish I could, and long for times away from the house surrounded by other people. (Managing those times is a whole other story.) But-I know that if I was in a “traditional” classroom setting, I would likely never reach my goal.
If this is an issue for you, or your Aspie, online college may be a good solution.
