Aspie Teen: Single-Minded Obsessed Kid!

Aspie Teen is always on YouTube watching “pranks,” and cackling like maniac.  I cannot even tell you how many times I’ve sat through the same drive-through pranks with him laughing hysterically at the SAME ONES, over and over! So this morning he comes downstairs, and the first thing he says, “Mom, Mom, watch this!” His eyes were barely even awake.

I have to admit this was good… so I had to share!

I NEED THAT APP!

This is a game that he has been waiting to be released since last year!  The release date is May 27th, and of course true to Aspie Teen style he has it pre-ordered and will be dragging me to the midnight opening at GameStop on the 26th.  This game is also the subject of his final compare and contrast essay for English class this semester (he is comparing this to another game by the same company).  Singled-minded obsessed kid!  (I wonder where he gets that from?)

  1. I love that he can write about that for his essay! I don’t get why some people are surprised that their kids/students don’t like to read or write…when they don’t let the kids read or write about the things that kid is interested in. I’d rather a student happily write about video games, football, fashion, or even a TV show than resentfully and grudgingly write about classics and culture. And realistically, critiquing a video game is way more likely to lead to a career than writing the same essay that thousands of people have written about race in To Kill A Mockingbird

    • I always tell parents to just let them right about their special interests; they are WRITING! Be happy! Plus this way, he is engaged and interested and will likely write something of substance.
