I thought the weekend was going sideways fast! By the time Hubby came home on Friday afternoon, I was trying to wash poop out of Little Man’s sheets while cleaning the mattress and carpet. NO—Little Man did not poop on his bed; the Tot did! Apparently, he decided (the Tot) that naked was the way to go, and went upstairs to play Lego City with no pull-up. Naked is a common occurrence around here, so no one paid much attention. That is until I heard, “MOM!!!!”
Little Man came down the stairs completely disgusted and half in a panic because he stepped in a pile of poop (barefoot) that was on the floor next to his bed (He hadn’t seen it on the bed at this point, or he really wound have lost it). I hate “stuff” (water, lotion, sand, etc.) between my toes so I definitely would have lost it had I been the one tracking poop through the house, over the carpet, and in mushy footprints down the stairs—yuck! Hubby walked in to chaos; not a good start to the weekend.
I was wrong though, the Tot had a GREAT weekend, which means the rest of us had a good weekend too. We even were able to have a family movie night on Saturday, which hasn’t happened in forever, without the Tot losing it.
The amazing thing about this weekend was that the Tot decided to spontaneous go to the potty! On Saturday morning he stripped off that pull-up again (remaining naked all day), but every few minutes he ran into the bathroom climbed up and did what he had to do…both number one and number two! We celebrated each time, and the Tot really loved the excitement of all us clapping and telling him how proud we were of Tommy! Unfortunately, sometimes nothing came out, which made him mad and he tried to whack himself. He found out real fast, that was not a good idea!
I’ve a child, not diagnosed with anything, who has found that running around in her long skirt without undies or pull-up helps her use the potty all during the day– finally! I was looking down the barrel of having a 5, a 3 and a newborn all in diapers. So glad this one figured out what was needed to create success.
