For a long time, we let Autism stop us from traveling the world as I dreamed of doing. There were always too many things to think about, and everything felt too hard. But, you know what? I’m done. We will go–travel–live life differently, follow our dreams and see where the wind takes us.
I am redesigning this site and developing a travel section. I hope to inspire you all to follow after your dreams and to see that whatever you want to do is possible. Is it hard? You’re damned right its hard! But anything worth doing is hard. People will stare, so what? Let them. Roam, free, enjoy this world and everything it has to offer. We only get this one life. That’s it, so make the most of it.
The Hubs has a few more years before he can retire and I want to roam the planet like a traveling gypsy. But until then, we are aiming to explore, whenever, and wherever, we can. And as much as possible.
The first thing we plan on doing is simple: Put a travel map up in our house with pushpins to mark the places we have been, where we go, and where we dream to be next. The boys are already talking about planning a trip to Japan in two years. They don’t dream small I can tell you that.
In the coming posts, we will discuss travel tips and ideas to help with travel, transitions, packing, and more. And, I will share the pictures from our Anniversary trip to Puerto Rico, where for the first time in many many many years we got away for a few days without the kids (and what gave us enough piece of mind to do so). Until then, I hope you all decide what you want out of life and go for it!
Over at Passports and Pushpins, I won’t be talking about autism, but you can follow this Autism family on our adventures traveling the world (with autism because it is a part of us and celiac disease (strict gluten-free) and hopefully be inspired to do the same if that is your thing.
